For a few weeks now I’ve been working on an interactive visualization to represent the nodes and connections of the entities in the Sacramento startup ecosystem. This conceptual map of Sacramento’s startup ecosystem maps out the connections and relationships of the various entities in our region’s growing startup community.
I’ve been wanting some kind of network map, entity relationship diagram, or some kind of visual representation that maps out the various entities and their relationships in the Sacramento startup community. Then an idea hit me a couple of weeks ago – a subway style map of the Sacramento startup scene modeled after the infamous London Tube Map.
Startup Weekend Sacramento: Health Edition is just around the corner and we already have dozens of people signed up for the event. For those who haven’t participated in a Startup Weekend before, the two and a half day event may induce a bit of anxiety about what to expect. With that in mind, I decided to expand on my previous simple infographic and create a more detailed and interactive timeline infographic that presents the weekend’s activities like an old fashioned board game.
Official planning for the next Startup Weekend Sacramento kicked off this week with the first of several planning meetings by the organizing team. I enjoyed the experience of creating infographics, teaser videos, and writing articles so much on the last Startup Weekend last November that I decided to step up and head up the marketing efforts for the next event which will be held April 29 – May 1 in downtown Sacramento.
