Health 2.0 Sacramento put on a fantastic workshop last night, an Introduction to Human-centered Design. The presenters/facilitaors for the evening, Tina Reynolds, Christine Folck, and George Claire all did a fantastic job leading 50+ Sacramentans through a series of exercises to familiarize them with the concepts and process of human-centered design. I stayed pretty busy taking photos of the activity and tweeting them. See below for my photos. For live tweets of the evening check out the #Health2Sac hashtag.
Description for the event:
You’d be hard-pressed to find an industry riper for change than healthcare. And in this immensely complex environment, new perspectives, ideas and tools are vital in helping usher that much needed change. At the next Health 2.0 Sacramento event, attendees will experience an exciting hands-on workshop to explore the possibilities of using human-centered design to develop innovative solutions to transform the healthcare environment. Participants will learn the basics of design, how it’s used both inside and outside of healthcare–in concert with LEAN principles–and have the opportunity to try the process for themselves!
