Earlier this year, Twitter made it possible to embed short videos in tweets. There are limitations of course. The video length is limited to 30 seconds and file size is limited to 512 MB. There are also limitations on file format.

Since finding out about this I’ve been intrigued with the idea of producing short videos and posting them to Twitter, primarily to promote local events like Startup Weekend and Global Startup Battle.

Here’s my latest little project, a short, 15 seconds, Holiday greeting video shared on Twitter to show appreciation to the Sacramento region for supporting ideas and entrepreneurship.

As social media and marketing guru Gary Vaynerchuck recently pointed out:

The single most important strategy in content marketing today is video. Whether it’s video on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat or Youtube, the content you need to be thinking about creating and marketing on social for your business is video. Period.

With the much shorter development time to produce these short videos (and resulting lower cost), as well as the short attention spans of today’s Internet audience, producing short videos like these is something that I intend to focus on more in the upcoming year. Contact me if you’re interested in having one of these short videos produced for you or your organization.
